Hi I'm Mason

I was born and raised in Nevada. I will be serving a mission in Japan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school this summer, and now I'm moving onto a new chapter of my life. My parents raised me and my five younger siblings to all be faithful members of the Church. I like to play basketball with friends and even lift weights. I also love to eat and to do fun things with others. I will be serving a mission for our Church during the next two years, and I will be returning in July 2019. After returning, I plan to attend college, find a good career for myself, and start a family when the time is right.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was a member of the Church my whole life, I had to decide at some point if I actually believed everything to be true. I did what I was taught, which was to pray and read our holy scriptures. I came to the conclusion that I was doing the right thing by being a part of this Church, and I know for myself that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world. I'm always learning new things about the Church and finding ways to increase my testimony of Christ. One aspect of our faith which I really like is the ability to question everything you hear, so that you can have the opportunity to grow and learn. I'm a Mormon because of the guidance it gives me in understanding life, and even what comes afterwards. It also allows me to strengthen my relationship with God and recognize His influence on my life.

How I live my faith

Before I graduated, I was a member of the youth program we have. I participated in many activities such as camping, dances, and other fun adventures. I made plenty of memories and new friends over the years, and was even asked to help organize some of these events. Even when I'm not with the youth, I try my best to attend any church functions that may be happening, as they are an opportunity to strengthen my testimony and even socialize with other members!

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Mason
The names "Mormon" or "Mormonism" are nicknames for our church, which is officially called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These nicknames come from a book we believe in, called the Book of Mormon. We believe the Book of Mormon to be a sacred book, similar to the Bible, and is a second witness of Jesus Christ.
