Hi I'm Armando Tarazon

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a missionary serving in Oregon. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18 years old and live in Arizona. I grew up in the church with my mom and step-day. My mom is a convert and my dad is not a Mormon. My mom met my step-dad when I was one and we have been a happy family ever since. I went to public school until I was 8 and my mom pulled me out and decided to start home schooling me. When I was about 9, my step-dad joined the Army. About a year later, he was sent out to Texas where he was going to be stationed for about a year and a half. My mom decided about 8 months in that she wanted to move our family out there with him. So, just before I turned 11, my family left the house I practically grew up in, and moved to Texas. Since then, we have moved three different times, and have finally settled down back in Arizona. I skipped a grade when I was younger and ended up graduating in 2016. Since then, I've been working at Chick-Fil-A while saving up for a mission and college. I'm now preparing to leave on a mission to Eugene, Oregon and am excited to see where life takes me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was introduced at a very young age. Throughout the years that I have grown up in this church, I have developed an amazing relationship with God and the members in my ward. Not only do I get the privilege of living this amazing gospel and gaining the countless blessings promised to me, I have become great friends with the people in my ward and stake. Participating in activities like mutual, camp outs, Trek, ward parties, and other various activities with these awesome people who share my standards and don't pressure me to make choices that go against who I am. These people have become like family to me and I love each and every one of them. Through living the gospel, I have seen so many blessings and miracles come to pass. And, I know for a fact that this church is true. There is no other way I can feel the peace I feel when I am following the commandments and actively participating in this gospel.

How I live my faith

Currently I am a Second Counselor in the Priests Quorum, which is a group of young men ranging from ages 16 to 18. I actively participate in church every week and attend mutual every Tuesday night where we do fun activities like service projects or games. I currently home teach 3 families in my ward each month. I also study the scriptures on a daily basis because I love learning about the gospel.
