Hi I'm Nick Steve

I was born and raised in Utah. I've lived here my whole life and I grew up in the LDS Church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 19-year-old young man preparing to go on a mission to Brazil. I'm a brother to one sister. I've attended college and finished half my degree for my Associates Degree in Computer Science. I enjoy music and played the french horn throughout middle school and high school. I enjoy baseball and used to play it during the spring summer and fall. I'm currently learning Portuguese for my mission. I love to go hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, and anything in the moutains. I enjoy playing video games on my computer which I built. I build computers for fun and have been building and upgrading computers since 2012. I'm an avid Legend of Zelda fan. I enjoy watching Japanese Anime.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up my entire life in the LDS church. My parents were divorced while I was young and my mother stopped attending church. I continued to attend church while my mother didn't and encouraged me to question my faith my whole life. At one point I stopped attending church and my life began to have a downward spiral towards failure. I ignored everything I had been taught and developed anxiety and depression which I previously didn't know about. I made a lot of bad choices during this time and I wasn't planning on fixing them. Then I was encouraged to go to church again and decided to go knowing that I had previously found joy in attending church and had been happy until I had stopped attending. I began to read The Book of Mormon and questioned its accuracy. I began to pray to my Heavenly Father if it was true. I was then reminded of every time I had felt the Holy Ghost, a holy spirit that is a constant companion that helps us and relays messages from our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to us. I was reminded of how all my prayers I had ever asked with sincerity had come true. I was reminded of all the times I'd been protected from hidden dangers that I didn't learn about till a later time. I felt my Heavenly Fathers love for me and everyone on this earth. I would like to share my testimony with you that I know this church is true and all its teachings are true and the leaders of this church have been called of God to do his will in these latter days. I am proud to be a Mormon and would encourage you to look further into our religion and sincerely pray to our Heavenly Father and ask him if it is true and you will feel its truth for yourself if you are willing to listen. I've been on both sides of this and I promise you that this church is true.

How I live my faith

I've grown up a Mormon and have been on both sides of activity. I was the Deacons Quorum President (Deacons are the young men ages 12-14 who have recieved the Aaronic Priesthood Teachers are 14-16 and Priests are 16-18) when I turned 12 and I was the only Deacon for four months. I then became the Teacher Quorum President when I turned 14 but shortly moved after that. I was the Teacher Quorum president for a short while in my new ward and then became the Priests Quorum President for a year. I haven't had any callings since then. I am going to serve a mission in a few months in Brazil and I'm really excited! I go to church on Sundays and occasoinaly go to youth activities and I enjoy helping others in my area with their needs.
