Hi I'm Kristen Swaney

:) Hello, my name is Kristen. Currently preparing to serve in the Brazil, Salvador mission.

About Me

I enjoy spending time with others, as well as writing, drawing/watercolor/art in general, watching foreign films, and learning other languages. I plan on becoming a linguist and hopefully finding a job that will allow me to travel as well as learn about other cultures and people. I currently live with my mother and brother, and we have four pets: one fish, one dog, and two cats. I have attended one semester of college, in which I was studying for a major in German. I have lived in three states, as well as visited countless others (although this number may vary depending on how you define 'visited')

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, so I don't have the most exciting conversion story. I easily took the Gospel for granted at first, and it wasn't until I was sixteen and some less than exciting things had happened that I was faced with a choice: I could continue sitting on the fence with my choices, or I could fully commit to one of the lifestyles; that of the Gospel, or one of the world. After reading some very personal scriptures, making some very tough decisions, and working alongside my bishop, my life has made a complete U-turn - I can truly say I live much happier and love this Gospel now.

How I live my faith

I was a former chorister, and am now a ward missionary for our neighborhood. As a ward missionary, my job is to help the less active or non-LDS members of our neighborhood to feel welcome to come to any LDS-hosted activities, as well as extend invitations to get to know one another (basically it's a calling to be friendly? c:)
