Hi I'm Trent

I grew up in Aliso Viejo, California. I'm 6'10" tall and attend Southern Utah University. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm currently a junior in college in Utah, studying history for secondary educational purposes. I grew up in a Lutheran / Non-denominational Christian home and attended Lutheran private school K-12. I love going on hikes, listening to music, following politics, spending time with friends and family, and watching MLB baseball. I'm 6'10" inches tall, the tallest in my family and the tallest at my university.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that this is the church of Jesus Christ restored on the earth in these latter days. After leaving the church I grew up with, I was vastly confused about what Christian denomination was right. They all seemed to have some truth, but that something was missing. As I met with LDS missionaries, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and confirmed the truth of what they were saying. After months of prayer and contemplation over the teachings of the missionaries, I received a strong testimony from the Holy Ghost. A feeling of peace and comfort filled me, and a strong sense of divine love filled my heart. At last, I knew God was truly there and that this was the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth. I got baptized on April 21, 2017, and since then, the Lord has blessed my life and the Spirit has helped me to learn and progress. I've never been this truly happy in my life until now and I know that this happiness comes from my relationship with Jesus Christ and doing my best to follow Heavenly Father's commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving my best to follow God's commandments and to stay in daily study of God's teachings and scriptures. Attending weekly sacrament, or church, always help me to feel the Holy Spirit and remember the covenants I have made with Heavenly Father. I also do my best to share what I can about the Mormon faith to all those around me and to testify how Jesus Christ lives and is the Savior of all mankind.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

The church is sometimes referred to as a "Cult" because we do not believe in the Nicene Creed, a Creed that is believed in by many other Christian churches. They claim we deny the trinity, and are therefore a "non-Christian cult". This however is not true. Nowhere in the Bible is the word trinity spoken or taught and the Nicene Creed is a man made creed that was voted on by men. The church is also called a cult because of common misunderstandings and lies spread by church opponents. As we live the gospel of Jesus Christ, people's perception of the church usually changes and they begin to understand that Mormons truly are Christians and followers of Christ and his teachings.
