Hi I'm Jaxon

I grew up in Cardston Alberta, Canada. I play basketball and love the outdoors. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. Hunting and fishing make me feel close to God. The higher I am on a mountain, the closer I feel to my Heavenly Father. I'm going to serve a mission for the church in Chile. I also love sports. Basketball, football, wake boarding, wake surfing, snowboarding, are just a few of the activities I enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born with parents that were in the church. Growing up I always went to church with my parents and learned the basic teachings. As high school approached I knew I needed to know for myself and that I couldn't rely on what my parents had taught me. As I pondered the church I asked myself why? Why do I want to live these strict teachings that seem to put a damper on the fun at times. With prayer and scripture along with just pure realization, I came to the conclusion that this gospel will only benefit my life. I was fortunate to have had the gospel in my family and have a good relationship with them. Some of my close friends and other family members did not have this experience. I realized the difference between living the gospel and not. Those that were not as obedient to the teachings of this church were not genuinely happy as those who did. Although the gospel is not always easy to live, I have noticed the blessings it has shown me in my life. It's teachings bring me comfort and joy. This past year I lost my grandmother who was very close to me. Due to my relationship I've had with my father in heaven and Jesus Christ I was able to be very comforted through these times. I know that God is real and that he hears and answers prayers. I also know the power of the atonement and how as people of this world we all have the ability to make changes in our lives and repent. God loves each and everyone of his children. This gospel has brought me this peace and comfort along with true joy and that is why I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

In my ward I am a priest. I participate in church by learning the teachings of Jesus Christ that prepare me for life and for a mission. I home teach three widows in my ward with a faithful member that I have learned so much from. I live my faith by participating not only in church but striving to go to the temple as much as I can and also let others here of my religion.
