Hi I'm Taylor

I grew up in Gilbert Arizona. I love running, music, and family. I am serving my Savior as a missionary in Asuncion, Paraguay.

About Me

I love life! I enjoy distance running, and have ran two half marathons, and one full marathon. I have been accepted to BYU-Provo, and will attend after I get back from my mission. I swam in high-school, played tennis, acted in the school musicals, and participated in Arizona Allstate choir. Some of my favorite things are sunsets/sunrises, driving with the windows rolled down, and mountains. I love my family more than anything else. And I am so excited to serve as a missionary in the great land of Paraguay.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but this doesn't mean I blindly follow it. I have gained a testimony that there is a Savior out there who died for me and paid the price for my mistakes and shortfalls so I can be better. I gain so much motivation and hope from this truth. I know God loves all His children: black, white, male, female, rich, poor, "good", or "bad". My faith has given me added perspective when I or my family and friends go through challenges. I know that God allows us to go through hard things so that we can become stronger and the sweet things are sweeter. In another sense, I don't know why God lets us go through hard things but I know He loves us so much and I have felt that love specifically for me. Having the gospel has made my life so much happier and better.

How I live my faith

Living my faith, to me, is what the name implies: it is a way of living. I have served as a youth choir director, and was part of a group of youth that helped improve the seminary program at my high school, where students could take a course on one of the books of scripture during the school day. I am a home-teacher, which means I have two families in my congregation that I visit each month. I teach short lessons, but just try to be there for them and help/serve in any way I can. I try to pray each day and study the scriptures. Every chance I can get to serve others I try to take. Once a month I fast for 24 hours and give the money I would have spent on food to help the poor in my geographical area. I am far from perfect, but I try to live like our savior, Jesus Christ lived, and develop the qualities of charity, humility, obedience, faith, virtue, and service that He had.
