Hi I'm Marianne

I'm a mom of 8 children - 6 sons and 2 daughters. I have lived in 3 other states besides Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

To help take care of my large family of eight, I sewed most of their clothes. My sons stated that if I could make shoes or socks I would. Sewing has been a life long hobby that has served our family well. I have also used this talent to help with humanitarian efforts in our local area. I love to make stuffed animals and blankets to give to my grandchildren and others. I also come from a very musical family. My grandfather formed a family band to help ends meet. My mother, one of 13 children, played the clarinet and saxophone as a contribution to this band. They played for local dances and were well known. She set an example of service as she continued to play duets, with her twin sister, throughout the local area. I am grateful for the constant music in my home. Music feeds my soul.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon home that taught kindness and love. While studying the Book of Mormon in my teenage years I developed a testimony of the Book of Mormon. This took reading, pondering and praying. I have always been grateful for that testimony. As I progressed through life, I learned that I continued to gain a firmer testimony of different truths of the gospel. I am grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, who was completely obedient to His mission in life. He was the perfect example. He took our sins upon Him in Gethsemane and died on the cross at Golgotha that we may have life after death. I have learned these truths through the Holy Ghost. I'm grateful for His love for us. I'm grateful for the knowledge that families may be together forever. All these things are possible because of Him.

How I live my faith

I to served in several women's organizations and organized meetings that taught such things as preparedness, life's skills, cooking, sewing, canning, gardening, etc. The most important responsibility I had was encouraging and teaching devotion to God and his children. Because of this service I have developed a love, not only for women, but their families as well. I had an opportunity to work, for 16 + years, and witnessed many difficult situations and felt God's love for all His children. This was a great blessing in my life, and it brought satisfaction knowing I had the opportunity to help others. Recently, I have accepted an assignment to serve a mission for my church. My responsibilities will be to help support missionary work in this area.
