Hi I'm Parker Lougee

I grew up in Casper Wyoming, I am serving a 2 year mission in Naga, Philippines where I will serve and teach others about Christ

About Me

I am 18, and have lived in Wyoming all my life where you can do some pretty fun stuff. In Casper we have a great mountain for skiing, hiking, camping etc. we have some awesome lakes that are super fun to go to. We also have some of the best movie theaters on the planet. I love watching movies I guess I'd consider myself a film buff. I'm a swimmer too, I've was a coach for my high school girl's swimming team and I started my own swimming program at my local gym. I was also a lifeguard for a couple years.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and know that the things that are written in there were written by prohphets of God. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon as well as the New and Old Testament. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that today we can have living prophets (currently Thomas S. Monson) I know of the goodness of the church, the selflessness of its members and the Christlike love that can be felt from the honest and good people of this great church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service to others and hard work. In the church we try our best to do things the way Christ would do them. I am very excited to be serving a mission to the Phillipines where I can teach others about the gospel of Jesus Christ and the things that I know to be true.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Parker Lougee
The word of wisdom is something that we use to keep our bodies strong and healthy. Our bodies are gifts from God and when you receive a gift you are expected to take care of it. Basically it means we don't use or consume things that can be and are unhealthy. Things like tobacco, cigarettes, illegal drugs (we are still, of course, allowed to use doctor prescribed medication as well as over the counter medication but ONLY for medical use not recreational) we do not drink alcohol, or coffee or tea. These things can be addictive and we do our best to avoid things that could harm our bodies. We also like to get plenty of sleep at night and regular exercise. So the Word of Wisdom isn't really a weird thing, it's just a guideline to staying healthy! Show more Show less
