Hi I'm Kennon Casper

I am an East Coast girl at heart, a music fanatic and lover of fitness. I am a mormon.

About Me

I am an energetic and adventurous 19 year old who spends her free time writing in journals and blogging about what goes on in life. I love running down abandoned dirt roads and crafting healthy and fresh meals in the kitchen. Children make me so happy and I aspire to be a high school social studies teacher, teaching at schools in big cities all around the country. Music is my passion, especially playing the piano and violin and I absolutely love those groovy tunes that I can relax to or bust a move to. I dig the Book of Mormon and all things involving Christ. He is my everything; Which is why I have decided to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have been assigned to labor in the Texas Dallas Mission speaking Spanish at the end of the summer! I love this beautiful country that I get to live in and thank God everyday for this free and abundant land that I get to travel in and explore.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the single most thing in my life that makes me wicked happy. This church brings me so much joy because I know with all of my soul that I have a loving Father in Heaven who is watching over me and guiding me every step of my life. I am a member of this Church because there is no where else that I can find as much peace and comfort than I do when I am reading the Book of Mormon, or sitting in church with those I love. I was lucky enough to be born into a family who taught me the ways of the Lord, however, my decision to continue on in this journey has been all mine. I have discovered for myself that this is the true church only through clear and personal witnesses that have come through the Holy Spirit. I have always believed, but because of my lasting trust in God and continual persistence, I have been able to develop my testimony in ways I never thought were possible. God has blessed me with great understanding, love and appreciation for this life and I just cannot deny it. I owe everything to Him and couldn't imagine giving up on what I know and love. I am a Mormon. I know it with all my heart, I live it with every breath I breathe, and I am in love with it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly seeking to increase my testimony. I am not a perfect girl, but I try to improve every day by praying to my Heavenly Father for guidance because I need that on the daily. I go through so many ups and downs and without my God, I would be completely lost and in darkness. I live by faith when I go to school and trust that the major I declared is what God wants for me. When I put in my mission papers, everything in my life was a blur and I was so dang confused about what I was about to go into. Satan began pounding down on me and I was so unsure of what the future held. Now, I can clearly see the rewards of acting in faith and doing something that was so out of my comfort zone and against what I had previously thought. Living by faith means that I trust that everything will work out and be the best for my future family, career and posterity. Faith is what I rely on and what I need to survive.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kennon Casper
The scripture in Alma, "All things denote there is a God" is one of my absolute, all time favorites. The outdoors speak to me. I am a lover of towering mountains, stormy seas, crisp snowfalls, cascading waterfalls and the wide range of animals that are on the earth. You name it, I love it. When I consider the complexity of the creation, and the actual scientific answers behind how the world came to be, my love for everything grows even stronger. Everything on this earth is a testament of Gods power and divinity. Humans are perhaps the greatest sneak peak into how incredible God is that he can create bodies that allow us to do such incredible things. Each day, as I strive to appreciate this life, I find myself literally in awe at how blessed we all are. My testimony is strengthened every time I learn about the creation, or go to science class or just take a simple walk through the woods. I come closer to God because I can see with my own eyes how all things point towards him. He created everything for us to enjoy, use and understand. He is the greatest scientist of all.
