Hi I'm Wayne Dennis

I live in Wyoming and I am a retired educator, who loves to tell stories about our historical past. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Thirty-five years in public education with experience as a classroom teacher, building administrator, and director of curriculum and instruction with supervision of federal grants and state reports. Strong background in supervision and program management, (e.g. mentoring program for new staff, trainings for administrators and staff on effective classroom strategies, systems approach to school improvement) coupled with generalist skills in working with collaborative groups, team building, and critical thinking. Yet my most percious time is when I am spending it with my family. We enjoy taking trips and visiting new places, as well as just getting together for family gatherings. Golfing, hiking, and exploring historical sites are just few of my favorite hobbies. However, my wife and I both enjoy collecting antiques and looking at beautiful art pieces.

Why I am a Mormon

My witness to the world is that God lives, Jesus is the Christ and ahead of His church today, which has been restored in these the latter-days, and that we are led by a living prophet of God. who holds all of the restored Keys necessary to administor all of the saving ordinaces necessary to quilfy us to be worthy to live with God again as eternal families. It is because of the testimony I have of these eternal truths that I am a Mormon. I was a young boy when a feeling that I could hardly described came to my mind as well as my heart testifying to me that Jesus truly lived, adn that he loved me, knew me, and that I was a member of his true church. That testimony has grown as I have and constitues teh solid foundation by which I live and motivates who I am. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

M faith is a central part of my life and is an essential aspect of our family as a whole. Many of our family activities are focussed on church related activities such as visiting church historical sites, attending the temple together, having monthly family home evenings, and doing church projects together. My wife and I have had the opportunity to serve togetehr in the temple, as well as a mission for the church in Oklahoma working with the youth. As a home teacher I have met wonderful people both members and nonmembers and have had an opportunity to teach the gospel in thier homes. Teaching in the church has been on of my greatest callings, from working with the very young to young adults, as well as teaching adults while serving as a bishop as well as a counselor in the stake presidency. My greatest desire is that those around me see and feel the love I have for our Heveanly Father and His son Jesus Christ, by the way I live and teh examples I set. One of the choice moments my wife and I just had was when our six year old grandson was staying obver at our house and as my wife and I got up early Saturday morning and begun to read our scriptures, we heard a faint cry from the bedroom, "hey, wait for me before you start reading". It was a testimony to me that our daily scripture reading with our own children were extending over to thier own children and our grandchildren were beginning to love the scriptures as we do.
