Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a digital marketer, a crossfitter, a donut lover, from Australia and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from just below Melbourne on the coast and love keeping fit and living a healthy lifestyle through CrossFit and other outdoor activities. I'm the only member of the Church in my family and was baptised in 2014. I used to work full time as a Remedial Massage therapist but have transitioned into Digital Marketing which is my passion and excites me every day.

Why I am a Mormon

About 2-4 years ago I was living a pretty wasteful and reckless life with no real path of where I wanted to be in the near future, I was selfish, self-indulgent and narrow-minded. And I guess I was okay with that because I was enjoying myself up to a certain extent, but the enjoyment was only temporary. I was happy in the moment but it was quick to wear off. I deeply regret some of the decisions I made, especially those that led to becoming distant with good mates. It got to a stage where it took others to point out I may need to change what I was doing and move away from the destructive path that I was on, I ignored that advice thinking that I'd be fine. The second time I took the advice. I began to develop a desire to change and become a better person. In order to do this I needed to cut out bad habits in my life that were causing myself and others harm. As I listened to the missionaries and what they had to say I started to ponder and become curious about it. I was by no means a religious person but I read parts of the Book Of Mormon as requested by the missionaries, and for the first time in my life prayed, sincerely to God. What followed was a series of events that were no way a coincidence. I made the decision to get baptised on the 5/10/14 and it was by far the best decision I have and will ever make. From following the Lords commandments and living the Gospel in its entirety I know that this Church is the one true Church on earth today and that we can communicate with our loving Heavenly Father through prayer.

How I live my faith

I strive to become a better person everyday and to become the best version of myself. We can't always see our full potential but God knows exactly who we are capable of becoming. In my home ward I am a representative for the young single adults, this involves organising activities, opening and closing the class on a Sunday and liaising with leaders. In addition to that I assist in the youth program with the young men, setting a good example and helping them become worthy priesthood holders.
