Hi I'm Nick

I'm a person who lives the outdoors. I love to hike, do landscape photography, play golf, and, as a pilot I love to fly.

About Me

I live in Saint George, Utah which is very close to many National Parks. I love to hike in Zion National Park, Grand Canyon, Arches and Bryce Canyon. I also love to photograph the outdoors. I am retired after 29 years working in State Government. At the age of 40 I received my private pilots certificate and love flying over this beautiful area of our wonderful country. St. George offers over 300 days a year of sunshine and blue skies which make flying even more amazing! Since retiring I have had the opportunity to serve on the Board with the Zion National Park foundation. I have met some incredible people through service in this regard, even more so through my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have been married for almost 43 years to a wonderful woman who has been responsible for much of my success and happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but did not have a solid testimony of its truth until I was first out on my own on a Church mission. I had many experiences on my mission that convinced me of the truth while praying, scripture study, and teaching that convinced me of the Church's eternal truth and talk by our Lord Jesus Christ. It is easy to take this knowledge and testimony for granted growing up in "Mormon Country" but a true appreciation for the Gospel comes at times when things are difficult and I am away from its influence. I know that the Church is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I know that the Church was restored to a modern day prophet by the name of Joseph Smith. I am very grateful for this knowledge and am getting ready to share this testimony with those that my wife and I meet in our mission together.

How I live my faith

I have learned that most happiness and satisfaction comes through serving others. My Church gives me many opportunities to serve. I have been a ward clerk for many years and help maintain the financial and membership records in my local ward. I feel that it is a sacred calling to maintain these records and to help members of my ward whenever they need it. I also have the opportunity to make monthly visits to ward members who may have needs due to illness or old age. It makes me feel good to be of service.
