Hi I'm Sierra Silva

I am from the Antelope Valley, 1 hour north of Los Angeles, CA. Youngest of 6 kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from California. Born and raised a member. Youngest of 6 kids, 4 brothers & 1 sister. All siblings are married & has a family. Recently got called to serve in the Utah Orem Mission. I've been playing the piano for 16 years, singing for 14 years. I interpreted for a Deaf sister in my local YSA ward for 1 year.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Savior. He sacrificed His life so that I can be a member of this church & to live a Christ-like life. The gospel helped my late grandmother to be converted to the Church. My father converted to the gospel from example of his friend. With the sacrifices they had to make to become members of the Church, they have left a legacy for me to become an ambassador of the Lord, to become more like Christ, and to be an example to my coworkers, nonmember friends, and people I meet each day at work. I am continuing to live the gospel by helping others come to know the love of the Savior, and to help them better understand that we strive to become more like Christ and to return to Him and our loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I am the Young Single Adult greeter. Each week at church, I stand outside the chapel welcoming new people, whether they are taking lessons from missionaries, or members who are visiting the ward. When investigators come, I meet them and talk to them about the lessons, to learn about them, and to develop a friendship with each of them. I used to be an interpreter for a Deaf sister in the ward for about a year and a half, signing to interpret every class, including the sacrament meeting so she can learn what's being taught. I have learned so much from her, and I have enjoyed communicating with her. I was the break the fast coordinator. Each month, I create a theme for fas Sunday, the first Sunday of the month, and people sign up to bring whatever the theme is. I also used to be the munch and mingle coordinator. For munch and mingle, every third Sunday after church, there are snacks, and the members meet in the cultural hall to eat and visit each other.
