Hi I'm David

I am a Mormon. I have lived most of my life in Oregon, USA. Retired from earning a living, I help where I want to.

About Me

VERY happily married for nearly 45 years to my eternal companion. Six wonderful children and twenty-three highly energetic grandchildren. Retired from employment I spend my time with family, community service through disaster preparedness, and being a district leader for the Boy scouts. Most of my career was focused on technical development so my favorite hobby is digging in the dirt; because you can't make a mistake with dirt.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a good, loving Protestant Christian family that was active in the local Church. But I found it congregationally focused and NOT personally focused. The focus was on how can the church bend to attract more people vs how can the church provide the foundation and guidance for EACH of us to understand the will of our Heavenly Father and follow our Savior Jesus Christ. I first found that foundation for personal salvation in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The focus on the importance for each person to learn and grow about their Savior. Then the people of the LDS church continuously challenged me to focus on my growth, to understand, accept and embrace the details of the restored gospel. I built that testimony and the conversion to following my Savior and helping others do likewise.

How I live my faith

As a father and grandfather I take seriously my responsibility as patriarch to be a foundation and a guide for my family. I try to model the way for always growing closer to our Heavenly Father and acting as the Savior would. Most of my assignments in the Church have been with the youth. It is exciting, fulfilling and , sometimes, exhausting to help and guide and just keep up with these wonderful youth vibrating with the Holy Spirit but unsure what it means or what next to do.
