Hi I'm Amber

I grew up in Utah in the salt lake valley. I Love everything about music. I have played the flute since I was 11. I am a mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 4 children. I have two sisters and one brother. Growing up we did not have a lot of money. My mother taught me to work hard for what I wanted. This made life easier when I was older and didnt have every thing my class mates had. I did not really care either, because I learned at a young age to be happy with what i did have. In 5th grade I learned how to play the flute and continued to play in the school band all the way through high school. I had not fully realized how much music had become a part of my life until i spent all of my first collage Semester without band because i was too afraid to try out for the collage band. Since then I have come to realize that whether it is a song with lyrics or from my flute music is how I express or say things that are hard for me to do with words. I have ofted used music when I have had to teach lessons in young womans or give a devotional at camp. During highschool and my small amount of time at collage I have learned to rely upon prayer and the Savior. If not for prayer and help from the Savior I do not know how I would have made it through high school or my first semester of collage for that matter. Durring high school I went through everything from the death of grandma the first day of 10th grade to the death of my band teacher in my senior year. It was rough but I made it. If anything everything that I went through not only strengthened me but also my testimony.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon for more than the fact that I was born and raised Mormon. I choose to countinue in the faith of my childhood because I have been blessed to see all of the times my families faith have helped us in life. There were so many times in my life that we should have been out of a home with no food, but through the prayers of my family, help from the church, and my parents faith in paying tithing we never once lost our house or went without food. Then as I got older Prayer has blessed my life more times then I can count. I have seen the Lords hand in my life many times. He has answered my prayers countless times. From helping me when I was sick to blessing me with saftety and providing friends at Collage. One of the times I was helped when I was sick was when I was 10 years old. When I was ten I got really sick, my side hurt so bad that one touch of my mothers hand shot emence pain through my body, and i had a high fever that refused to brake. After two days my mother called my grandma and she told her to take me to the emergancy room. Before we left I had my dad to give me Fathers blessing using his priesthood power. After many hours and test the doctor told me that I was a lucky girl and nearly escaped getting apendacidis. Infact he didnt know how I got better so fast. That day I learned the power of the priesthood. I know that if my father had not given me preisthood blessing that night, and i hadnt had faith that he could heal me through the help of the Savior, my apendex would have burst, and I would have been sent to surgery. Things would have been different that night, but because of my faith I was healed. For that reason and many more, I remain true to my faith.

How I live my faith

I try to be kind those I meet, and serve others around me and in my family. I try my best to refrain from judging others, not only is it not my place too judge, i know that since Iknow nothing about there life I have no right to judge them. Plus I am not perfect, therefor how can I judge another. I also strive to read my scriptures and say my prayers everyday, although once again I am not perfect at that either, but i am trying to improve. Every since i was 12 i have had many church callings. Ranging from secatary of my young woman class ( group of girls my age at the time) to president of my young woman class. I was also on one of the family home evening committes ( committee that plans activities for young aduldts to do on monday nights) in my first young single adult ward. Ever since I was little I have helped my mom watch little kids. Since I was 8 yrs old I have helped serve the elderly neighbors in our neighborhood. We have helped them by shoveling snow in the winter and help caring for thier lawns in the summer. Through church I have done many service projects. some of my favorites where making toy cars for children in third world countries, making food baskets for members in the ward, and making blankets for children in hospitels.
