Hi I'm Daniel

I am a farm kid from Nebraska. I'm a missionary currently in Kentucky. And, yes, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a country kid through and through. I was born in Utah, grew up in Nebraska, an now am a full time missionary in Kentucky. I am a fifth generation farmer. I love being a missionary and seeing how the Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses and heals all of us, just as our Father in Heaven loves seeing us grow toward spending eternity with Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were members of the church, and that is what got me started on this path. But, that isn't the reason that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. During my teen years I struggled from time to time. Because of this I started to wonder about why church. As I have been taught my whole life I turned to our Father in Heaven who does really love me (and you). I read the Book of Mormon and took Moroni's promise (Moroni 10:3-5) to heart and asked God if it is true. I undeniably received a witness from the Spirit that the Book of Mormon is true and that he has his restored church on Earth today with living prophets. I know that Joseph Smith was who he said he was and that he is a prophet of God just as Thomas S. Monson is today. This is his work, and I love sharing it!

How I live my faith

I love living my faith. I have been a member my whole life. Ever since I was little I have set my eyes on serving a mission and sharing the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am now fulfilling that life long goal. The blessing that have come to me and can come to you are even more than we can possibly comprehend. I am serving in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission and love seeing how the little things I do, God magnifies. I am just starting my two year service as a missionary but I love it so much already!

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

In this church we are taught that when we have questions or we wonder about what is best we can turn to our Father in Heaven and, if we have a sincere desire, we will receive answers. " For he that diligently seeketh shall find" (1 Nephi 10:19). People across the world may ask why our church is growing. To this question I would say it is because it is true. We teach that if we ask God, everyone can have a witness of the spirit to the truthfulness of our teachings. This is the only complete true Gospel of Jesus Christ on Earth. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

There is no way I could ever describe completely what the Atonement is or what it means to me. But, if I were to put it into one word, I would describe it as LOVE. Love from both our Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is when Jesus Christ paid the price necessary to meet the demands of justice to make up for the sins that we have all committed. I am eternally grateful, and it brings me peace day to day. But not only is the Atonement for our sins but for our weaknesses. Jesus Christ understands all that worries us because he has gone through everything. This means we have someone to turn to, Jesus Christ, when we are struggling. We cannot comprehend all of the details of the Atonement but we know that Christ had to die so that He could rise so we can one day overcome physical death as He did. I, in no way understand all of the complexities of the Atonement, but I love it, and am so thankful to my Savior for His sacrifice. Show more Show less
