Hi I'm Michelle Jones

I have been married for 36 years! I have 3 wonderful sons, 3 beautiful daughters-in-law, and 3 darling grandsons!

About Me

I have been a member of the church my whole life. I have been married to my husband for 36 years. We spent most of our married life living in the Chicago area and that is where we raised our three sons. Each of them now have a beautiful wife and we also have 3 darling grandsons. Nothing but sons (by birth) so far in this family. We love Jones boys! We moved back to Utah 3 years ago when my husband retired early from his corporate job. We wanted to be close to my parents as they are aging and need assistance. We have enjoyed being ordinance workers in the Chicago and St. George temple for the past 7 1/2 years. My husband has also spent a lot of time doing family history work. I enjoy cooking, sewing, crocheting, paper-crafting, scrapbooking, and baking. I also do cake decorating. I play the piano (a little) and enjoy singing as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am deeply grateful for my belief in Jesus Christ, and for his restored gospel here on earth. I am most grateful for a living prophet on the earth today who can provide direction and revelation that is important for our day. I grew up in a happy home with loving parents and wonderful brothers and sisters. Because I was taught the gospel as a child and it made me happy, I desired to continue to live the gospel and share it with my own children. Some people might look at our church and think we have too many "restrictions" but I have found the guidelines given to us to be very "freeing." I have been able to live my life free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and the many negative effects they can have. My life hasn't always been easy, but it has been a great blessing to have the guidance of my family members and church leaders as I have tried to keep the commandments and bless the lives of those around me. I will be eternally grateful for my membership in the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have tried to live my faith my whole life. I grew up in a home where I was taught to read the scriptures and pray, and we tried to teach our sons the same thing. We had regular family prayer and family home evenings. I have served in many different capacities in the church, both in my ward and also in our stake. While in Illinois, I served with the young women (ages 12-18) for 8 1/2 years, and in the Primary organization (children ages 3-12) for about 2 years before we moved. I also served as a ward Primary president, counselor in the women's organization, counselor to the young women president, primary chorister, primary teacher, Sunday School teacher, and visiting teacher in the women's organization. I have found great joy and satisfaction through serving others. I try to be a good example to those around me, and maintain my standards, even when it might be difficult or when I may seem different. I believe in practicing what I preach. I try to treat others with kindness and charity, no matter who they are. We are all God's children and I believe in treating everyone as a brother or sister.
