Hi I'm Tyson

I'm a College Student-Athlete. I am Samoan. I'm a soon-to-be missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Tyson-Jay and I am a student at Harvey Mudd College, a consortium of five colleges in Claremont, California. I'm planning to major in either Engineering or Computer Science. I also participate in Collegiate Football and Track & Field at my school. I enjoy music, singing and playing my Guitar and Ukulele. I love my Samoan culture and grew up sharing it through performances of song and dance. I am also an Eagle scout and currently preparing to serve a mission in Ghana, West Africa for the next two years and am excited for this next chapter in life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life. I love every part of the gospel and am grateful for the blessings to my family and my life because of it. I know that through the teachings of the gospel I can have and live with my eternal family. I know that we have a living prophet who gives us direction from our Heavenly Father. This gospel has helped keep me on the right path in life.

How I live my faith

Living my faith means to simply be a good person. The best way to do that is living as Jesus Christ did and loving as He did. As a youth leader, I learned that the best way to lead is by showing love. When we show we care for those around us, we help them recognize their self-worth as Children of God.
