Hi I'm Zephaniah

I was born and raised in southern Arizona. Both of my parents are converts to the church. I am a second generation Mormon.

About Me

I am very outgoing and energetic. I love anything that has to deal with nature like: fishing, camping, hiking, hunting. I like to work on vehicles on my spare time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon by both of my parents because they are both converts to the church. I did not have much of a testimony then, as I got older I started to fall away from the church. I was in the rebellious stages of growing up and wanted nothing to do with it. My mother kept shoving the gospel down my throat and I hated it. I do not have the best home situation either. My family has been falling apart for over 4 years and it keeps getting worse. It does not look like there is an end to it. As I fell away from the church I started to become extremely depressed. I could not handle anything anymore. I would lock myself in my room or try to escape in my video games that I played. I got to the point where I almost tried, but I could not do it. I have several times and it was getting worse. Hearing your parents yelling and your own mother saying how terrible you are and how I am abusive, a liar, and other things that I do not want to list. I have never grown up with someone who I could look up to. I was lost. I was failing everything and I could not even graduate high school because I could not get good grades. Something happened in my life, it was around graduation, where I had a bunch of stuff happen and I decided to change something in my life. I had no clue what to do, so I knelt down and prayed. I had just entered into three colleges. I asked in my prayer that if He wanted me to serve a mission that I would get denied to every college and I would try my best to go, (one of the colleges was SLCC and it accepts everyone). A few days later I got them in the mail and I was denied, by all of them. I started to pay attention in school and at church and I was catching up. My life wasn't as bad anymore and I started to see that I was headed somewhere. As things improved I grew closer to the church and understood the teachings even more. I know that He is there and is listening and I know that He answers our prayers, in His time, not ours. He will always be there for us.

How I live my faith

I go to the temple as much as I can and I go to church every Sunday.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We believe and it is taught that marriage should be between a man and a women. In the scriptures it states that we are to multiply and replenish the earth which we can only do with the opposite sex. Being with the same sex, as in marriage or dating, goes against what is taught and said in the scriptures. Because with the same sex we are unable to do the main reason why we are sent here and that is to replenish the earth. We were created to be able to bring other people down to earth so that everyone may be able to experience the true love of God and be able to grow and have an understanding of Jesus Christ that we may be able to live with him again. This law is not to restrict people and just to say it because they can. It is there to help and guide us through these latter days so we may be able to see him again. Show more Show less
