Hi I'm JD

I grew up & live in Southern California, am a husband & the father to five wonderful children, love gardening and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy my five children and also the foster children my wife and I have cared for over the years. I have a degree in horticulture and spend much of my free time gardening and taking care of the 80 plus fruit trees and bushes we have on our average sized lot. I enjoy racquetball and other sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a religion that is logical and makes sense and has the answers to life's great questions. The biggest reason that I am a member is because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me in an unmistakable and undeniable way that God lives, Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith is a prophet and the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in the church by being a teacher in the Primary (teach children under 12 about how to be better disciples of Jesus Christ) and also serve as a clerk to the Bishop (leader of our local congregation). I also enjoy serving in the Temple twice a week--one day I do vicarious work for ancestors and one day I help others do spiritual empowering work for themselves. Perhaps the best way I live my faith is by trying to be a good husband, father, neighbor, citizen and employee.
