Hi I'm Shane Lilya

I grew up in the United States. I love Ultimate Frisbee and classical music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in band; I play the trombone. I also play Ultimate Frisbee and I'm a cadet officer in JROTC. I plan to attend Brigham Young University-Provo when I return from my mission in Huancayo, Peru. I'm not sure what I want to study in school, but I am considering obtaining a degree in Physics and/or International Business. My favorite book series include Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Eragon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Lord and His gospel. I know that by the power of Christ's Atonement, we can all be forgiven and return to live with our Heavenly Father. I live the standards of the Church every day because I know that they come directly from God and they are put forth to edify our mind, body, and spirit. I chose to serve a mission because I have been blessed to grow up in the gospel, and I want to share that with anybody who needs it.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a Ward Missionary. This means that I assist the full-time missionaries who have been called by the Lord and set apart as missionaries. One of the best ways that I expand upon my calling is by simply engaging in conversation with my friends. Many of those who I talk to are some form of Christian, mainly Baptist, and I find it extremely interesting to see their views and how they compare to the Church's.
