Hi I'm Matt

I'm a twin, I'm a college student, I'm an adventurer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing sports and being active. I take advantage of every opportunity I can to get outdoors whether it be running, hiking, camping, or skiing. I'm always excited to try new things and explore new places. When I'm not out exploring, I'm studying for my classes at Brigham Young University where I am a student. I have a curious mind and I love to learn. Most importantly, I have a love of my Savior and His gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised in the church, it wasn't till I was in my teens that I became truly converted to the gospel. While I was hoping for some sort of grand sign like seeing an angel, it never happened. But, as I prayed, studied the Book of Mormon, and lived the church standards, I learned for myself that this is the true church. I find comfort in knowing that because Jesus Christ died and atoned for my sins, I can return to live with my Father in Heaven someday. Moreover, having this knowledge and His gospel has brought so much happiness to my life. I hope to be able to share this happiness with the people of Puerto Rico on my mission and the many other people I meet throughout the rest of my life.

How I live my faith

Growing up, I wasn't always surrounded by people who shared my standards and beliefs. Oftentimes, I found myself in a difficult situation where I was forced to choose between what I knew to be right and what my peers wanted me to do. However, I had made a conscious decision beforehand that I would do what I knew was right. And though at first it was hard, people have come to respect me for it. It has enabled me to be an example to others of the values I stand for. While I am now at BYU where I am surrounded by people who share my standards, I am grateful for those times my integrity was challenged because it strengthened my faith.
