Hi I'm Karen

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. I was taught of Christ, and yet, I had so many more questions.

About Me

I joined the Church when I was 24. Since then, I have learned so much. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and feel its power daily. I have 4 children, 13 grandchildren, and I am preparing to go on our first mission. My husband I and were just released as Phoenix temple workers. We lived in Poughkeepsie, NY for 27 years, and loved our ward and stake there. I feel blessed as I go through the ups and downs of this life to have the guidance of the Lord, His comfort, teachings, and love.

Why I am a Mormon

This Gospel has slowly but continually taught me. When I first heard the Plan of Salvation, I knew it was true. I felt the same way as each truth was explained to me. The Spirit witnessed the truth of these great concepts, one by one. I amazed at who I have become, and how the Lord has blessed me with strength to live the Gospel. I have never once regretted being baptized into this church.

How I live my faith

The missionaries that taught me told me that I would feel the most free by keeping the commandments. As I try to live righteously and keep the commandments, I see how this has happened. I am not perfect, but living the laws and keeping my covenants do bring me freedom and peace. For example, at first I thought the law of the fast would be hard to do. Now, I love fast Sunday! I have felt and experienced the extra power of the Spirit we get when we fast. I also love the law of the Sabbath. I love Sundays! It feels great to feel the freedom of now worrying about laundry or shopping or money and bills, and to just feast on spiritual things.
