Hi I'm Olivia

I grew up in south-eastern Idaho on farm. I love to read and play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always enjoyed school and learning and I just completed my freshman year of college. I love all things animals and hope to someday be a veterinarian! I have a big family with seven siblings who are all married and from them I got 14 nieces and nephews who I absolutely adore. In the winter I spend my time on the mountain skiing or curled up with a book and a cup of hot chocolate. In the summer I like to ride horses with my dad, go boating, hiking, and spend as much time outdoors as I can when I'm not working.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon brings such true and pure happiness into my life that I can't imagine denying it. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who created me in His image to be just the way I am. I love the gospel of Christ and the fact that through Christ's Atonement I can return to live with God again, and that I have an eternal family that I can live with there. I know that there is not a trial I face here on earth that Jesus Christ did not endure before me, and that because of His love for me I will never face anything alone. When I live the way God intends for me to live I can find peace and happiness in my life that cannot be found any other way. The storms that life sends my way can never dampen my spirit when I have the Lord on my side. That is why I am a Mormon and always will be.

How I live my faith

When I was away at school I was in a ward with a bunch of other college students just like me. I was in charge of organizing our weekly activities on Monday nights called Family Home Evening. We did a lot of fun activities that helped us grow closer as a ward which was so fun. I have also recently been called to serve a mission to Argentina where I will teach the people about the gospel of Christ and I could not be more excited.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Olivia
Because we (as Mormons) believe that baptism is an essential step in receiving eternal life and to our personal salvation, we believe that those that have passed on and were not baptized while in the mortal world should have the same opportunity to be baptized in the Spirit world after they die as those still on earth. Temples offer a sacred place that these ordinances can take place by those worthy to complete them. After the proxy baptism is done the person that the baptism was done for can then choose to accept or deny the baptism that has been done for them. Show more Show less
