Hi I'm Rhys Wheeler

I love camping, serving others, and making new friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Dayton, Ohio Region. I've spent the majority of my life in the scouting program. I love spending time out camping and participating in other outdoor activities. I love listening and playing music. I learned to play the saxophone in school and want to learn how to play many other musical instruments. I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most of my time is spent helping and supporting my family, though i do enjoy playing games of many different varieties.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church under the guidance of my parents. Through time, I have come to gain my own knowledge of the Gospel of Christ through my own personal worship and scripture study. I have also attenden

How I live my faith

I spend a lot of my time in church with the youth and helping them, build their faiths through relationships with both the Lord and each other. I along with another member of my congregation, also go and visit other families in our area frequently to see if we can serve them physically or spiritually. This is commonly know in our church as Hometeaching. I strive to read my scriptures often and to converse, through prayer, with my Heavenly Father as well. I love the experiences that participating in Church activities allows me to have and hope for many more fun, unique experiences to come.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Rhys Wheeler
Missionary service has never been a requirement. In all parts of the Gospel of Christ, we are invited to share his gospel with all who want to receive it. The extensive service of 18 months or 2 years, and the decision to serve one is purely voluntary. It's very hard work and is not for everyone. There are many other ways we can be missionaries. All we have to do is follow any of the examples set by Jesus Christ, and we, ourselves, become missionaries; spreading the love of Christ through service, compassion, forgiveness, respecting and loving all people, despite race, sexuality or religion.
