Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in New Jersey and Massachusetts. I play the flute. I love science and doing watercolor paintings. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children, a college student in Utah, and a lover of all different types of music. I did sports all throughout high school, like soccer, track, and swimming. I love going to art museums and also to do my own paintings. I study biology in college, and love learning about science and how things work.

Why I am a Mormon

I've had plenty of turning points in my life growing up where it would have maybe been easier to not be a Mormon. It was especially hard in high school and growing up where there weren't a lot of church members in my area. But at the times where I am the lowest and I quite literally have no idea what to do, I always find myself turning back to the Lord and looking for guidance. And even though it was, and still is, difficult at times to be a member of this church, looking back can offer perspective. I can see that rather than being restricted, I was actually being protected and guided. I was led down the path that would bring me true happiness, and I am grateful for the teachings of the church. I also have gained and continue to grow a relationship with my Father in Heaven through this gospel, and that is the most important relationship I will have. My testimony continues to grow and the older I get, and the more I experience, I can see more and more just how true this gospel is. I have found that as long as I am looking towards Christ, I can't fail. That doesn't mean I won't have hard times, or maybe make some mistakes, but I know how I can get back and be better through those experiences.

How I live my faith

I go every week to my local congregation, and I participate in the calling I have been given. Some callings that I have participated in are laurel president, stake youth council leader, activities committee co-chair, and also gospel doctrine teacher at my single adult ward.
