Hi I'm Teresa

I'm Hispanic. I am a college student and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Provo, Utah and when I was four I moved to Nevada where I lived in Las Vegas for a few months before moving into a super small town called Moapa Valley. There I grew up knowing everyone I grew up with. I became a dancer and when I was old enough, I started to work by helping my mom clean offices and started to babysit children from my ward. When I was sixteen, I moved back to Utah and finished my last year of high school a year early before going to Utah Valley University for my education. There I met wonderful people and had great experiences and loved being part of the institute council where many blessings were poured over me. Currently now I am planning to serve a mission and got my call to Guatemala Guatemala City East. It is the most exciting and nerve-wrecking parking of my life but I know it will be so great for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am not a Mormon, I am a learning and progressing convert in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My story goes back when I was a young girl who grew up learning two different gospels. When I went with my dad to the Catholic church services, I was always confused and got a little tired of hearing the same sermon each time. When I went to the LDS church, I became excited to go to primary and hear the stories of Christ. He always seemed to be there for me, especially when I did not realize it. Then one day, my whole life shattered by the greatest earthquake in my heart that still has not been fixed but it has been healed through Christ. At that moment when I was nine, I had to depend on Christ to help me through the hardest trial of seeing my parents divorce. Ever since, I always find myself praying desperately and finding comfort through the gospel when life seems hard. I have learned in the past months that there is nothing we can ever do that will prevent the powers of the atonement to heal us. Christ is real and our true savior in this world who was sacrificed by our Heavenly Father to save all of us. I know that He is real, I have to believe in Him. He is my life, He gave me everything and more because of His love. There is no one like Him, no one like our Father in Heaven who loves us unconditionally. I'm not perfect in the gospel but I know that Christ will never give up on me and will always be there to remind me, no matter how many times to show to me that He will always be there. There is nothing to fear if I have Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my callings and through the activities presented by the church. I love it when General Conference comes every six months, twice a year and I enjoy watching church films and listening to uplifting music that brings me to Christ. I especially love praying to my Heavenly Father through my Savior. It is the best time of the day when I open my heart and pour everything I have to say because They already know me and understand all I go through and feel. I love going to sacrament and seeing the work given by members who care.
