Hi I'm Lizzy Wood

I've got curly hair. I love reading books, singing, chips and queso, and learning. My family is everything to me. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 6 kids, 33 grandkids, and over 80 great grandkids. We get together as an extended family very frequently, and family plays a huge role in my life. I spent 7 years on a powertap team and was able to teach powertap for a few years as well. Teaching strengthened my love for little kids- their joy and selflessness inspire me so much and I can't wait to be a mother someday! I've also spent a few years studying Spanish and I think it is a beautiful language. I have a goal to learn to speak Spanish fluently. I'm a little competitive when it comes to games- card games, sports, etc- and I enjoy playing games with my family. I love sunshine and blue skies and tulips. I don't really like chocolate but I am a candy enthusiast. My favorite memories of my family are the nights that we do family dance parties or when everyone sings along as my dad plays his guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I like to consider myself a truth seeker. As I have pondered the things that I have learned through attending the Mormon church, I asked the source of all truth and wisdom, our Heavenly Father, to help me know if what I was learning was true. I am a Mormon because I have learned for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's church on the Earth. I know it to be true, and I know that God knows that I know it to be true, and I cannot deny it. Being a Mormon has brought me lasting peace that transcends the despair of the world. It has given me purpose, direction, and guidance despite all the confusion that I see around me. It has filled my heart and soul with joy and a desire to return to live with my Heavenly Father again. It has brought me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ and to my Father in heaven. By observing the fruits of the gospel I know that this church is good because I have seen all the good that this church brings to the world.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything that I do and with every fiber of my being. My beliefs and my faith in Jesus Christ make me who I am. My faith pushes me to be the best I can be so that I can be ready when the Lord needs me. My faith also allows me to look forward to the future with courage and hope instead of despair or anxiety. The best way I can show my faith is through serving others, and I am always happiest when I am serving.
