Hi I'm Donovan Hanna

I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I have a full-ride scholarship to BYU (Provo) to play football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family full of athletes. My mom, 2 brothers, and sister all played Division 1 NCAA sports. My mother was also a single mother so growing up wasn't the easiest at times. but I took up the family trade as well and I play football. I received a scholarship to play football at Brigham Young University. I am the youngest out of the 4 children, so my brothers and sister picked on me a lot growing. I will attend BYU in the Fall of 2019, so if you are a football fan, look for Donovan Hanna (that's me). I am now serving a mission in British Columbia, Canada.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me pure joy. I have been blessed in so many ways that I cannot count. I know the sports ability I have is a blessing from the Lord. I haven't played very many football games in my life. I've played in less than 20 football games in my whole entire life. but the Lord has blessed me with an ability to play this sport. I owe my life to Him because he is responsible for all of the small or big miracles that have happened in my life. The Lord has blessed my family in times when we have down to the last dollar and have wondered where our next meal was coming from. Although most see a hardship and look to blame God, I see a blessing that he let us live in a nice safe house and that we always had another meal to eat.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the way I live life. I visit families in my area once a month and ask if they need help religiously, or if they need help with something as simple as yard work. I also live my faith by being an example of Christ on the football field. I am a fierce competitor, but I care for human beings more than the outcome of the game. I always help up opponents, tell referees of the good job they are doing, and overall just try to bring a happiness to such a violent game. I try to exemplify Christ's example in everything I do because I know he is the ultimate role model we should follow in our lives.
