Hi I'm McKay

I was born and raised in Utah. I recently left on a mission to Peru, and strive, every day, to make people smile! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in a big family, two sisters and two brothers. As children, we would spend a lot of time together as siblings. Now most married and in their separate ways, we still love to come together and just laugh and have a good time. I am so thankful for my wonderful parents for making us an awesome family. I love my Fam. Right now, I am a Student Body Officer at my High School. I have so much passion for my school and love to go to every event to support and cheer on my fellow students. I probably spend more time at my school than I do at my house, and thats okay, because I love that place. As I draw closer to graduating, I'm a little sad i'm leaving, but I am very excited to move onto the next step of my education in Eastern Utah on a full tuition scholarship. It'll be fun! I recently applied to become a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and have received my call to serve. I am assigned to labor in Peru, and I'm very excited to go spread this amazing gospel to the people of Peru. When I am not going to school, or preparing to serve, I just live the life of an average Utah boy. I love to watch every kind of sport, and if that was the only thing that was on TV, Id be okay. I also enjoy playing all kinds of sports, mainly Basketball, Baseball and American Football. I am not very good, but I am very competitive and like to win! I also like hanging out with all my friends! I love to take girls out on dates and just having a good time. That's me!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have lived it, and have loved it. I was born and raised as a member of the LDS church. My siblings and I were taught Christlike attributes and what was the right thing to do from two loving parents. I decided to get baptized at the age of 8, and continued to grow in this church. I knew my standards and followed the Lords commandments, this principle really helped me a lot through Middle and High School. I realize now, because of my principles and standards I was and am much happier. During my junior year of High School, I didn't make the best decisions. A lot of people would say they regret the hard times in their lives, but I have learned to be grateful for that experience because my testimony grew so much. Through all the difficulty, I used the Atonement, and I really felt that power, I now know that Jesus really did suffer for us, and did rise again, so we can overcome our sorrows and afflictions. My favorite thing is that I can use it in every aspect of my life, every minute of my life, the power of the Atonement is so real. Throughout that time of struggled, I was also promised protection from the powers of Satin, if I would read the Book of Mormon everyday. So I did, I tried it, and it worked. I began to read more and more from the Book of Mormon everyday, and not only did its power protect me from the devils influence, but it inspired me and made me happy. I love the Book of Mormon and testify it is a shield we must yield in this time of war. At the start of 2017, my friends and I made a new years resolution to go to the Holy Temple more often, once a week. I always knew there was a special spirit in the temple, but as I started to go more and more, week after week, I feel the spirit in the House of the Lord so strong, and it just makes my whole week better. I love the Temple. Finally, I know I have a loving Father in Heaven who answers my prayers and wants whats best for me. This is why I am Mormon, so I can get back to my Father!

How I live my faith

I am a Mormon, and I ultimately try to live my life through the teachings of the Apostles and Prophets. I wake up every morning and read from the Book Of Mormon, and say a prayer. I pray to my Heavenly Father all throughout the day, whenever I am scared or nervous, or just before I eat. I try to live my life by following the commandments and being an example to others. At the end of the day, I typical read out of the Bible, and end my day with another prayer. I go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple every Thursday morning, and love the spirit I feel there. Then every Sunday, I go to church, partake of the sacrament, and learn more about my Savior, Jesus Christ. Once a month I also fast. Through this all, I feel the Holy Ghost and know I am getting closer and closer to my father in heaven in day. Right now I am a Priest in my ward. I am going through the process to become a member of the Elders Quorum. I don't have a calling in my ward, but as I stated before (in the about me section) I have recently received a call from the church headquarters to serve a full time mission. I was assigned to labor in the Peru, Chiclayo mission and I'm so excited to go teach the people of Peru. One major part of my life is service. I love the feeling that I get when I serve my fellow neighbor. In the winter, I shovel peoples walks and go out with my friends to raise money for charity. I love service and love helping others. Another thing I do with the church, to bring others to Christ, is Church Basketball. I love sports, and church basketball gets young men from all over my city to come play basketball at our meeting houses. It's a lot of fun and sometimes can get a little serious, but after the game has ended, we always try to be friends afterwards. I hope through friendship I can bring some of these young men back to the path. This is just a little bit how live my faith. I try to center my life on Jesus Christ and His atonement, and help others do so too! I love the way I live.
