Hi I'm Dan Meikle

I am a Mormon because I had a laser clear spiritual confirmation that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith.

About Me

I was born as the 5th child in a family of 8 children. My birth was traumatic. My mother and I almost died. By the age of 5 my parents could see that I was the smallest child in my kindergarten class. We later found out that my pituitary did not function properly. Being the smallest boy means that you are going to be teased or coddled. Neither of these is desirable. As with many others with whom I share this planet, I found life to be hard. I refused to see myself as different from other people, as limited or handicapped, but at the same time I enjoyed the attention of being different or special. I am sure lots of people were curious about my condition. I was not open to any discussion of my unique situation. Let them be curious! That was my creed. As I grew up, life was full of interesting challenges. In second grade, my parents held me back in school just because I was small. This did not set well with me. At 15, I looked about 5 years younger and shorter than my age. At 20, I looked 8 years younger. I used pads to boost my length when driving a car. I was pulled over by police on a daily basis for looking too young to drive. I once was pulled over twice, minutes apart, on the same street. Despite my mother feeling I was too small to go to college and serve a mission, I was determined to do so. Unknown to me, my faith. courage and refusal to be a victim has inspired those I have had contact with. Now, being 62, I see that God has used my challenges to bless others.

Why I am a Mormon

I a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a church Jesus Christ restored to the earth for our time and is clearly the most similar to the church Jesus established during his ministry. I find it very refreshing that the canon or scripture and personal revelation are not closed. God speaks to his prophets and apostles and to each of his children individually if we will pray to him and allow him to direct our lives in his service. I honor all religious people of goodwill and know that God respects their efforts to draw close to him. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can heighten your quest to know and serve God because Joseph Smith restored priesthood authority, keys and ordinances to earth, providing the most accurate road map to return to God. Jesus Christ is the head of this church and directs our church leaders today. I love my church and know you will find answers to your questions and come to know God and his Son in a way that will transform your life for good. God Bless

How I live my faith

My understanding of the nature and character of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are the foundation of my faith. God is a loving personal being who is intensely interested in my well being. He sorrows over my pain and delights in my progress and joy. Jesus Christ redeems me from physical and spiritual death through his death, resurrection and atonement. I strive to be like God and by following the teachings of Jesus. I ask myself, "What would God have me to do with my life," and try to follow that guidance. God can make more of my life by far that I can. Starting in January of 2018, my wife and I will be serving a mission in New Zealand providing pastoral counseling to missionaries serving in New Zealand, Australia, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Tahiti, Papua New Guinea, The Marshall Islands and Kiribati, as well as many other smaller island nations. My challenging life has contributed to my desire and ability to provide empathetic service to those struggling with depression, anxiety and other emotional issues. My professional work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker has been very fulfilling. I hope to continue to be able to use the skills I developed to support and help others.
