Hi I'm Payton Short

I was born and raised in Utah. I love being in the mountains and meeting new people. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a convert to the church. I got bapitized two years ago when I was 17. My dad hasn't been active since he was twelve and my mom and little sister aren't members of the church. I was born and raised in Utah. I love soccer, hiking, biking, boating, hammocking, camping and beiing the mountains. I love indie and alternative music. My two favorite artists are The Head and The Heart, and The Paper Kites. I love peanut-butter and jelly snadwiches; I think I could live off of them. I did year at Utah Valley University and I'm still undecided in what I want to major in. I want to go into the medical field hopefully. I have been called to serve in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. I am so excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I haven't always been member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and now that I am... why wouldn't I be Mormon. Just like Joseph Smith who was searching for answer, I was once was seraching for an answer or purpose. Before I was baptized I didn't know the purpose of this life and I was striving to find that purpose. I was curious why Mormons were so happy, almost as if they were glowing with happiness. I wanted that happiness that they had. I can now proudly say I found my purpose, I found that glowing happiness that radiates off of Mormons. Being a member I still have trials like anyone else in this world but knowing the truth and being able to understand and live the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me so much happiness and hope. It's easier to get through rough times when I understand God's plan not only for me but for everyone. I want to devote my life to serving others helping others find the happiness of the gospel just like I others have opened my eyes to the pure joy of the gospel of Jesus Chirst.

How I live my faith

I activley go to church every sunday and I love the people there. As I learn more about my savior Jesus Christ, it makes me want to become more like Hiim. To become the best that I can and devote my life to serving others. I try my best to serve and be kind to every person I know or meet. I love building realtionships with my friends and family. It brings joy to my life. Having faith in our Father and in Jesus Christ is somehting I continually work at. Having faith is not seeing a sign and then believing. Faith is first believing and being confident that you will find the truth for yourself and asking God to help you find that truth. My faith gets stronger as I pray daily, read my scriptures, attend church, and serve others. Faith has been a powerful thing in my life. Faith gives me hope, a purpose, determination and continuing to become more like my Savior every day.
