Hi I'm Joann

I am recently retired. My husband and I are preparing to serve a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

What do I enjoy? Hiking, picnics, swimming, surfing (when I was young), bicycling, walking, cooking, reading the Bible and Book of Mormon, playing the pennywhistle, embroidering pillowcases, traveling, researching my family history, mowing grass and believe it or not - washing dishes.

Why I am a Mormon

Religion wasn't the hot topic when I was growing up. My LDS Church experiences were hit and miss. Mostly miss. After graduating High School, I opened a local newspaper, found a job and roommates. As I was now out in the world, on my own.....I went to Church! Forty five years later, my faith and beliefs are as strong as ever. No regrets.

How I live my faith

In the community, I have participated in several 5K walks to raise funds for various causes. I try to donate blood at the Red Cross a few times a year. At Church, I have served in various capacities, but most of my experience has been teaching the youth ranging in age from 3-16 years old. It is by serving others, that we experience the most growth. My husband is a wonderful example of serving others. He is truly an inspiration.
