Hi I'm Alyson

I grew up in Texas. I love to run. I love spending time outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Houston, Texas. I have one younger brother and a younger sister. I enjoy spending time with my family and going on family vacations with them. I went to college at BYU for a year and am taking a short break to serve an 18 month mission for the Mormon church in Idaho. Afterwards, I will return to BYU and major in the civil engineering program. I ran cross country in high school and still run in my spare time. I have run two half marathons. I love watching and playing all sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I love the teachings the Mormons have on how families can always be together forever and how there is life after death. In addition to this, I have studied and prayed about the Mormon faith and as I have done so, I have found these teachings to be true. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he is real. I know that because Jesus Christ suffered and died for everyone who has ever lived, who does live, and will live, we can receive second chances when we fail through repenting and trying our absolute hardest to do our best. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently getting ready to serve a mission for the Mormon church in Boise Idaho. I leave in a month. I will be on the mission for 18 months. While on the mission, I will help teach people about our beliefs and Jesus Christ who is the center of our faith. I have actively participated in the Mormon church and the programs it holds throughout my life. When I was between the years of 8 and 12, I attended a group called Activity Days that the Mormon church holds for girls who are between 8 and 12 years old. When I was between the ages of 12 and 18, I attended a program that the Mormon church holds for girls between 12-18 years old called Young Women's. In each of these programs, we would participate in activities at least once a week and get to know people within our age group through these activities. These activities would range from fun activities, to service activities, to faith promoting activities.
