Hi I'm Emma

I am from a small town in South Carolina. I am a pianist and a third-degree black belt. I'm a daughter of God. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been practicing martial arts for the last 13 years. I've played the piano since I was 5 and music is one of my favorite things. I love cooking and baking. I really enjoy playing board games with my family and my friends. I love meeting new people. I just finished my first year of college. I recently decided to serve a full-time mission to share my testimony of Jesus Christ. I was assigned to serve in Arizona and New Mexico and I am so excited to share my love of Jesus Christ and His gospel and how it can bless lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this gospel. My parents are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so they taught me about Jesus Christ since I was little. When I was eight years old, I was baptized a member of this church and I feel that I had a testimony then. However, since that time, I feel like I've truly been converted to this gospel and my testimony of it has continued to grow stronger. My testimony is this: That I and every other human-being who has every lived is a literal child of God. That He is our Heavenly Father and He loves His children more than I can imagine. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I've read it. I've prayed about it. And I cannot deny what I've felt. I have a testimony that God speaks to His children through prophets today the same way he did in times of old. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. That God and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and that he translated the Book of Mormon through God's power. I have a testimony that families can be eternal. That through the power God gives to men to act in His behalf, families can be sealed together for time and eternity. I know the Bible is true the same way I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have studied it and then asked God and received an answer. I know that Jesus Christ suffered every pain, illness, grief, loss, and sorrow that you and I have felt. Because of this, He knows how to comfort and bless us. I also know that He has felt every joy, triumph, and rejoicing that we have felt and He truly wants us to feel this all of the time.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith in various ways. One of these ways is that every day I wake up and when I pray, I try to remember to ask Heavenly Father for opportunities to share my testimony with someone I meet. I believe that testimony can be shared through actions and words. I try to do this through something as simple as a smile or holding the door for someone, or letting a friend know that I'm praying for them. In church, I've served in a couple of different ways, but most recently I've been asked to play the piano for our congregational hymns every week. I love doing this because it gives me the opportunity to help pick the music that I think can have a positive influence on those who hear it. I also enjoy listening to all of the voices at church.
