Hi I'm Allison

I grew up a member in Utah. I am a Missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in 1997 and grew up in Utah(still live here too) as a member and will be serving my mission from May 2017 to November 2018. I worked as a Facepainter at the local amusement park and loved it. Anybody who knows me knows that I am quiet and introverted. My interests are mostly music, art, and writing. I play violin and played in orchestra during my Jr High and High School years, though I won't profess to being very good. I still pick it up occasionally. I love cartoons and animated movies. I love drawing and currently hope to do something in the field of animation. I dabble in writing occasionally. My friends and I have been working on a story of our own and hope to have it published eventually. I have some interests in video games, but mostly the lore behind them. I don't actually play many myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member, so living my faith started young. My parents grew up faithfully and raised my siblings and I faithfully. Family support and a foundation in the gospel has put me here and kept me here. I never really had a time where I slipped into inactivity. Through persistent church attendance, prayer, study, faith, and most of all the Spirit, I have developed my own testimony. I don't know any specific experience that solidified my faith. My faith came little by little and just built slowly and will continue to build slowly throughout my life. The church means so much to me and I don't know what I would do or where I would be without it. I have struggled with social anxiety and am positive the gospel is what has kept me together this whole time. Strength comes through faith. I am a Mormon because I know this is the truth and it has blessed my life.

How I live my faith

Prayer, study, faith, and church attendance are the basic things I do. I also try to be kind to the people around me. Even if it's just a smile as I pass by someone. I have been striving to serve a mission and spent approximately six months taking time out of my schedule to spend time with the Sister Missionaries in my area for six hours twice a week to prepare. Overcoming social anxiety made preparing for a mission difficult, but I have managed so far through the support of those close to me and through the love of Christ. Leaving my home for 18 months to serve people is just a minor thing compared to what the Savior has done for us. I want to live my faith by devoting myself to the work and loving the people I meet.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Allison
No unclean thing can enter into the presence of our Heavenly Father. Since we are imperfect beings, we would not be able to return to live with Him unless someone atoned for our sins. Christ was the only person who could do this because He is the only perfect person to ever live. He took upon himself our sins and suffered them so we could be able to repent. Because we are able to repent, it is possible for us to return to live with our Father in Heaven and have eternal joy. Show more Show less
