Hi I'm Niffy

I'm an adrenaline junkie, I am fluent in sarcasm & I am a firm believer that pineapple belongs on pizza. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First thing's first. Niffy is short for Jennifer. Now that that's out of the way... I was born in the Marshall Islands, but raised in NY and OKC. My dream of becoming a professional chocolate taste tester was crushed, so I settled for college instead. I attend BYUI, where I proudly ride my heely's to class and participate in campus-wide super smash tournaments. When I have free time I like to make instruments, sing, fish, go shooting, snowboard, play lacrosse, hike, and hammock (can hammock be a verb??). I am an avid lover of concerts, politics, books, and all things spontaneous, whether it be jam sesh's or road trips. About 90% of what I say is a nacho libre quote or sarcasm. Though I probably seem like an 'all fun and games' type person, my absolute favorite things in this world are my family, the Book of Mormon, and the temple. These 3 things have brought me an immeasurable amount of joy, and I truly feel blessed to be able to have them as part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Joseph Smith declared that the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. Well, the Book of Mormon is the keystone of my life. Cheesy, I know. But it's so incredibly true! Without the Book of Mormon, I would have no direction. I would have no foundation. Most importantly, I would have no sense of God's love for me. When we come to understand how much God loves us, we will be able to feel true happiness...and this gospel brings me more happiness than I can even describe!!! But this isn't something that just came to me over night. This was/is a life-long process! My testimony came with a lot of prayer and pondering. All of us, individually, will need to ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon is true. In the last two paragraphs of the introduction of the Book of Mormon, there is a very bold promise. I challenge YOU (whoever is reading this) to read those two paragraphs and follow those guidelines.I have done this repeatedly, and I've come to know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is a prophet called of God, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's gospel restored onto the earth. Your answer may not come how or when you expect it to, but I promise it will, and it will change your life like it did mine.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have left my home for 18 months in order to serve others and bring them closer to Christ. Nothing brings me more joy than to know I am helping people.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Niffy
Well, how do you come to know anyone? You have to communicate with them! The best way to come to know Heavenly Father is to reach out to Him. He is our loving Heavenly Father, and just like any earthly father, He wants us to love and trust Him. Sometimes we don't recognize it at first, but He reaches out to us all the time! Maybe it's through another person, through the Spirit, or through the scriptures. But I know that prayer is our source of communication to Him. He will never ignore us! We will come to more fully understand Him as we strive to pray and grow our relationship with Him :) Show more Show less
