Hi I'm Amelia

I grew up on a farm in rural New York state. I am excited to serve a mission in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm in rural upstate New York. My family raised beef cattle and I was responsible for a flock of over hundred chickens. I sold both eggs and meat, raising money for my mission, which I will leave on this summer. Learning how to work and finding joy in working was a major part of my youth. For the last year I have attended Brigham Young University, where I am studying elementary education. I am so excited to be a missionary in the Nevada Las Vegas West mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as I live my faith my life is changed for the better. As in live my faith, I am able to face my struggles each day with a positive outlook - knowing that even though it is hard, I can find strength from the gospel and the Lord. The gospel helps me to become my best self - improving a little each day.

How I live my faith

My family and I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2007, when I was nine years old. I enjoy sewing, crocheting, weaving, and playing the piano and have taught these skills to others on several occasions. I served as the Ward Program Coordinator for two years, creating a paper meeting agenda for the Sunday services each week. At first, I was nervous to present my work for the whole congregation to see, but by the time I was released, greeting everyone each Sunday morning was one of my favorite parts of the week. This experience taught me to reach out to even the shyest people and to see the special light in each person’s eyes.
