Hi I'm Braeden Paskett

Born in Utah, live in Colorado. Disney, Harry Potter, and donuts--enough said. I LOVE being a Mormon!

About Me

I come from a family of seven that is quirky, loving, and hard working. I have always been a driven individual who likes to set high goals for myself. Currently, I am a student at BYU but still deciding on a major. As noted previously, there is nothing better than watching a Disney or Tim Burton film, or daydreaming about fighting Death Eaters, or scarfing a delicious maple bar (with sprinkles, of course). Seriously, is there anything better? In my free time, which is rare, you'll find me reading, cooking something gourmet, or embarking on adventures into the unknown! Life is not easy. I have battled cancer and anxiety, and it seems like the physical ailments never stop. But with the Lord's help, everything works out. I have faith and hope that one day, we will all be made perfect. Hallelujah! And let's not forget my very soon-to-be mission in Independence, Missouri. For those who may be unfamiliar, this area is very historic and sacred within the Latter-day Saint Church. So I am ecstatic to share my testimony and serve the people in this mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Nothing has brought me more peace and understanding than the gospel of Jesus Christ. During the most stressful and confusing episodes of life, I have found comfort in knowing that the Savior loves me and understands me perfectly. With all my heart, I know that that the Book of Mormon is true. It is the word of God and not of man. It is the road map to our salvation. It has the power to give us answers to ANY questions or concerns--all we need is an open heart and a meaningful purpose. Life may be difficult, but the Lord wants to help. We must rely on Him. By trusting His path, His purposes, and His timing, then all things will work out for our benefit. His blessings are unbeatable.

How I live my faith

It was quite the adjustment for our family when we moved from urban Utah to rural Colorado. But our family had a calling we did not recognize at first. We had the privilege to help start an LDS unit in our town, and the membership continues to grow as the LDS faith becomes more prominent in the community. Thus, from a young age, I learned to serve the Lord with a diligent heart and to set a righteous example of sustaining my beliefs. As an independent college student, I have had the opportunity to serve on a publicity committee followed by secretary in the Elders Quorum (a group of men who assist, teach, and look after one another as well as the people in our local church unit). There is hardly any greater service than serving in the Church. It allows people of similar or diverse backgrounds to come together and learn from each other. As such, we all have one purpose: to help God's children.
