Hi I'm Spencer King

I was born and grew up in Utah. I like to be in the mountains, read, play the piano, and spend time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have loved to read for my whole life. Some of my favorite books are The Book Thief, Lord of the Rings, Unbroken, and Mistborn. The piano is my favorite instrument. I took piano lessons for 9 years, and have been playing for about 11 years total. My dad and I love to go hunting, camping, and hiking in the canyon nearby my house. We got our first deer last year so that was super exciting. At my school I am in Chamber Choir, am on the Cross Country and Track team, and am a member on my school's student council. I love doing things with my friends, they are so fun to be around. I also love to ski. This year was the second year I got a season pass. One of my favorite memories of skiing is when me and my friend skied off of a 15 foot cliff into a cloud of powder. It was amazing. I love being outside and spending time with those I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I can't imagine my life without this gospel. It has guided me in all aspects of my life. So many of my questions and decisions have been answered through this gospel. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it was translated by Joseph Smith. I know he is a true prophet that restored Christ's true church to the earth again. I know that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father live and they love me more than I can comprehend. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real because it brings peace, comfort, hope, and joy to my life. I know that through the Atonement I can overcome all things. I know that Christ suffered for my sins so I can be perfect and I know he was resurrected so I can be too. I know that President Monson is a true prophet on the earth today. This brings comfort to me because as the world gets scarier and more wicked, I know I have someone I can listen to to receive guidance. I know this church is true and I will continue to follow His gospel.

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings in my ward, such as youth leadership and ward pianist. I help organize events every Wednesday for the youth to bring unity to my group. I also play prelude for my ward's sacrament meetings and accompany the brethren in my ward for opening exercises. My dad and I home teach two families in my ward. Once a month we visit our families and see how they are doing, and teach a small lesson to them. I try to serve as often as I can.
