Hi I'm Zach

I love history. I'm an aspiring writer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Zach and I'm 18 years old. One of my greatest hobbies from a young age is history. Ever since Sixth Grade, I've spent countless hours reading about all things history, from Mesopotamia to German Unification, I've pretty much read it all. I love it so much that I've decided to major in it at Brigham Young University. I also love to play basketball, write, and do all sorts of activities with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church, but I didn't always believe it was for me. I spent a lot of my teenage years doing the average teenage activities. I always believed there was a God, but I didn't believe He was involve in the details of my life. When I was 15, I decided to give the church a chance. I prayed to God to forgive me of my sins and to show that He was involved in my life. I continued to do this for 7 months and I didn't see or feel anything divine. One day while riding the school bus, one of my Mormon friends posted a picture and the caption said, "Heaven will never be filled with those who didn't make mistakes." A feeling rushed over me then. Warm and inviting, it felt different and it was nothing I'd ever felt before. In that moment I knew God loved me and that He was there watching over me. That's why I'm a Mormon. Because since God loves me enough to involve Himself in a young boys life, why can't I show my gratitude and love Him by keeping His commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing to serve a two year Church service mission. For two years I put aside my friends, family, college, and all worldly aspects of my life to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I've always wanted to serve a mission and the opportunities it provides to increase knowledge, my testimony, and love of the Gospel are endless.
