Hi I'm Tyson Robert Garrett

I grew up in Thousand Oaks, California. I am about to serve in the Texas McAllen, Spanish Speaking Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to be very active in my life, and in my opinion, the more well rounded you are, the better your life will be. I love playing sports like baseball, basketball, football, you name it. I also enjoy mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and ping pong. Basically any activity that gets me up and moving is probably something I like to do. In addition, I just finished my first year at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Finally, I love being an American and thoroughly enjoy the beauty that comes with this country and I love spending quality family time.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am a Mormon and why I love this church so much. I think the main reason why I know that this church is true is the Book of Mormon and the power that comes with it. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I read it for myself, prayed about it, and received an answer from the Holy Ghost. I testify that if you read the Book of Mormon with real intent, then you will receive an answer from the Holy Ghost. I also know that the Book of Mormon is true by just looking at it logically. There is no way that a young man like Joseph Smith, who had the education level of a 3rd grader, could have produced a book as immaculate and near perfect like the Book of Mormon. By looking at it that way, to me, there is no way that the Book of Mormon can't be true.

How I live my faith

There are many ways that I live my faith. First off, I have been given many opportunities to speak and talk about different aspects of this religion. I have also been an example to many kids my age because I have been a mini-missionary of sorts. Everyone in my High School knew I was a Mormon, and with people knowing that I was a Mormon, there was added pressure to be an shining light. However, this extra spotlight gave me an opportunity to be an positive example to show other people that Mormons are just normal people. I also am very active in our church because I bless the sacrament every Sunday and participate in all the meetings.
