Hi I'm Hal

I grew up on a ranch. I am a Mormon boy. I hold the Melchizedek Priesthood in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints.

About Me

I enjoy living in the country, raising cattle, crops and taking care of them. I have always owned a horse. I have many memories of experiences with them, both work and pleasure. Ranching and horses helped our children to learn to work and enjoy it. I also worked as a school counselor and teacher for 34 years. I love to dance. I was a member of the college folk dancing team. I enjoy sports. As a youth, I participated in baseball, football, basketball and track. I was involved in student government in college. After I served a Spanish speaking mission to Uruguay, I married my most beautiful wife in the Idaho Falls Temple. We are the parents of a dozen children. (6 sons and 6 daughters). They have blessed us with a total (so far) of 50 grandchildren! I am retired presently and we live in a cabin in the mountains. In fact, as I write this, I am sitting by a fire in the fireplace. I am enjoying woodworking. I love the frequent visits of our children and grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have been invited to come unto Christ through faith in Jesus Christ and his restored gospel. I believe in repentance, baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost by proper authority, and then continuing to endure until the second coming of Jesus Christ. I have gained a personal testimony of the truthfulness of this church through study, prayer and attendance at church. My ancestors were Mormons, also. Anyone can become a member of this church by following the steps that I have already mentioned by receiving the Mormon missionaries into your home and into your life.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday my wife and I teach the 14-15 year old youth in Sunday School. One day each week we serve in the temple. What an uplifting experience that is! I am also a home teacher to 4 families. We have served them in several projects. Each Monday evening in our family we hold a Family Home Evening when we study gospel topics, sing and make family plans. We begin and end each day with prayer and have blessings on the food. We study the scriptures each day. We are currently studying the scriptures and Spanish in preparation to serve another 18 month mission, this time to Mexico. We previously served a mission in Uruguay. We attend Sacrament Meeting each Sunday and partake of the Sacrament as a reminder of Jesus Christ's great atoning sacrifice and resurrection. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-the Mormons. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, in his son, Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost.
