Hi I'm Rylie

I grew up in Idaho. I love adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raise in good ol' Idaho as the only girl of 5 kids. I like to think I have an adventurous spirit, and love to get out and explore this great world we live in. I love to ski, hike, camp in hammocks, and explore whenever I can. As a graduated high school student, I knew I wanted to go to college and gain a higher education, but every time I have attempted to register for classes and make that big step in life...something stopped me. The first time this happened, I jumped on a plane and taught English in China as a volunteer for a few months. (Talk about adventurous). The second time this happened to me, I decided to stay at home and work for a medical clinic. The final time this has happened, I have decided to serve an LDS mission. From this point on, I plan on changing my subject of teaching from English to my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS faith, and I always knew it was true. I didn't necessarily know it was true for myself until I was put through many trials of my faith. I came to know the Gospel Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true for myself when I stood alone for my beliefs, when I felt alone in the world... but not alone through Jesus Christ, when I listened to the living prophets and apostles words and felt of their power, and when I had questions about this faith then truly studied it out and found answers to my questions. I know this gospel is true, because I read it's teachings through the Book of Mormon (Another Testament of Jesus Christ) and The Bible and then prayed to know if what I was reading is true. I know their teachings are true. I know this gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I believe there are many ways one can "Live their Faith". All throughout my life, I have been given opportunities to truly live what I believed. I was born and raised in the LDS faith, but didn't necessarily have a strong spiritual home life through the years. When I was a little girl (about the age of 12) my family decided to stop making the gospel of Jesus Christ a priority in their lives. I knew I loved my savior and wanted to follow his example, and in doing so resulted in many years of me going to church by my lonesome. I prayed my family would once again join me at church, and they eventually did. It was not easy attending those Sunday meetings alone, but I'm so glad I did so my family could once again join me in those ever so important meetings. Church was not as easily accessible in China seeing as though there weren't many members, and a church building was very far away. I, along with my other roommates had to find ways to participate from such a far distance. Each Sunday, we would Skype into our meetings, and every month made it a goal to make the sacrifice to journey the sometimes multiple day trip to physically attend church at our church building in Shenzhen. I'm so happy I made that sacrifice to follow my Savior, because I definitely felt of His blessings. With sacrifice comes blessings, and that sacrifice doesn't need to be huge like the two stories I previously shared. I have found other ways to live my faith and recieve blessings through the small sacrifice of time as I serve my Savior and Heavenly Father. I currently serve as a Sunday School teacher in my Young Single Adult ward. I love this position I have been given to volunteer in, because it teaches me so much as I teach and serve others.
