Hi I'm Renee

I'm from Oregon. I love reading, painting, and spending time with my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am serving in Quezon City, Philippines and currently learning to speak Tagalog.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many, many reasons. My mom and I started going back to church when I was eight and then I was baptized. When I was fourteen my step-dad allowed the missionaries to come into our home (something he had never done before). He was baptized a member of the church about a year or so later and in January 2014 my family was sealed together for eternity in the Portland Oregon temple. I have cherished that day as a sacred day in my life. Because of this I have an extremely strong testimony of the temple and the ordinances that can be performed there because I have been blessed to complete those ordinances with my family. I know that some day I can be married in the temple to a worthy priesthood holder for time and all eternity. I know that temples are houses of the Lord where we can be close to Him. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He is the Savior of the world. I know that because of Him I can repent of sins and be clean again. I have a testimony of the Holy Ghost and the power, guidance, and comfort it can give us in this sometimes difficult life. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and all of His children whether or not we think we are worthy of His love. I know that God gave us families to love and guide us and that we can have our own families in the future to nurture and protect. I love the Book of Mormon and believe in every word that is written in it. I know that Joseph Smith was guided by the Holy Ghost to translate it into English for us to read in this modern day so that we can follow its precepts and guidelines in order for is to live a more perfect life. I know that there is life after death and that this mortal state is just a glimpse of what we are promised in the eternities. I am so grateful for all the many blessings that God has given me and my family. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by serving a full-time mission for 18 months in order to bring happiness to individuals and families and to share the message of the gospel with them.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Renee
Temples are sacred houses of the Lord that allow people on Earth to perform ordinances that will allow us to return to our Heavenly Father once again. Anyone can visit the temple grounds and see the beauty of temples. Baptized members of the church who are qualified and have prepared to enter can enter a dedicated temple. Temples allow people to ponder over important decisions in their lives, perform ordinances (such as marriage) for themselves and for their ancestors (such as baptism), and to learn eternal truths.
