Hi I'm Kallen Webster

I am a long distance runner, a sports fan, I'm from Kansas City Missouri and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I may have been home schooled my whole life but that has not stopped me from being a very social out going person. I played baseball starting at age 8 for 8 seasons when I finally dropped the sport to focus on my passion in competitive distance running. That has been my sport, and place I have found great success since I was 13 years old racing any distance from 800 meter to the half marathon. And after a Mission in the Logan Utah Mission I plan to compete in college as a distance runner competing in 5Ks, 8Ks, 10Ks and eventually the half and full marathons after I graduate. As of now I want to get a degree in communications or journalism and enter into the world of sports media, focused on radio. But with a two year mission and four years of college ahead who knows where I will be lead.

Why I am a Mormon

I suppose to answer the question of "Why am I a Mormon" is fairly simple for me. My family lines joined in the days of Joseph Smith and have been faithful to this day. But the more important question for me would have to be "Why to I remain, and plan to remain, a faithful Mormon" As is the case for many brought up in the church I often have found myself leaning on parents, teachers and friends for my testimony, simply fallowing what I was told was right and seemed logical to me. For most of my life I have lacked that true faith and knowledge that the teachings of the church were absolutely positively true. But as I have aged and bigger and bigger decisions have loomed over me I have had to develop my own faith. And I have found personal faith and while of course I, as all of us do, have a long way to go to reach a level of perfection in my faith I have grown closer to God and my commitment to the church and the commandments have grown exponentially. I implore all to find that faith for themselves and come closer to God.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life and have been lucky enough to be brought up in a faithful family. I have been able to serve in the church in many ways, from directing music in various meetings, to serving as a leader or assistant in our Young Mens program and in our Boy Scout troop to countless opportunities to visit and serve members of my ward other wards and non-members. I have been given opportunity to server in the most temporal of manners by mowing lawns or helping families move all the way to some of the most sacred services that can be given by taking the sacrament to those who are not able to attend regular church meetings. I strive everyday to live as the Lord would have me live. I work to set an example, serve and share my faith with all those interested.
