Hi I'm Heston Warr

I grew up in a small town in Utah. I learned to work hard on my families cattle ranch. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Heston, that is also the name of a tractor brand. When my parents had me they were certain that I would grow up to be a cowboy and eventually take over the ranch. To their surprise as I grew up they saw that was not my future. As I grew up I was very imaginative and had a huge sense of optimism, and I still do. Where I come from there are only about 30 people in the town. I was academically motivated and my sophomore year of high school I decided that I wanted to do something great in high school that would set me up for success in the future. I decided that I wanted to graduate high school with an associates degree. This was a big decision for me, because the schooling situation that I then had was not equipped to allow me to do that. My family and I came up with the plan to send me to my grandmas, four hours away, and go to high school there. I have recently graduated high school with my associates from Utah Valley University, I have also recieved a mission call to the Ghana Accra Mission. I am more than exstatic to serve!

Why I am a Mormon

In my childhood I was not Mormon, this was because my family was not LDS at the time. I suppose I was introduced to the religion at a young age, but I don't remember anything to significant. When my brother turned eight, and had been invited to go to church several times, decided that he would like to be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. The catch was, he wanted my, at the time, alcoholic father to baptize him. With the Holy Ghost help, my brother convinced my father to quit drinking alcohol, receive the priesthood and baptize his son. Eventually I turned eight and was also baptized; a interesting side note my brother and I were baptized in our resevore at the ranch. Ever since then I have been instructed by the spirit and my loving parents to do a couple of things. First, to pray and ask God if this was the true church and if Joseph Smith really did work as an instrument in Gods hand to restore the true church again. Second, they challenged me to read the Book of Mormon and ponder whether it was true or not. I can tell you right now, whoever is reading this, the book is true and this church is true; Joseph Smith really is a prophet of God and really did restore the this church. I have a testimony of these things and that is why I am still a Mormon and that is were my faith stems.

How I live my faith

In the small town that I live in, I am preparing to serve a mission. I have several callings in my small branch of about 20. I am first of all a Aaronic priesthood holder, with this calling I often bless, prepare and pass the sacrament. With this calling I also I go to my neighbors houses and ask them how they are and what I can do to help them, I try to show my neighbors with the greatest amount of love and I try to do so by serving them in many different ways. I am also my branch's organist/pianist, I love music so much, it is a big part of who I am.
