Hi I'm Leonardo Severo

I grew up in Brazil and currently I studying International Relations. I'm a Mormon and grateful to serve, teach and learning.

About Me

I am 22 years old and I was born in the interior of the South of Brazil. During my life I had the opportunity to travel through most of the Brazilian states where I had the opportunity to know the plureness of my country and discover new cultures. I am currently studying International Relations and Foreign Trade, and working as a Receptionist in a Hotel in the city where I live. I discovered in Philosophy and Theology a way to improve my potential as a human being. I have never met my father, but I have a Mother who is worth ten, and I am grateful for the support and love she devotes daily to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I found in my studies a way to occupy my mind with bad thoughts and anxiety. I have recently discovered that Theology, Philosophy, and Science are not necessarily excludable, so I have decided to unite all the knowledge gained in the Gospel of Christ to add fundamentals and rational content to my college research. Like the Prophet Joseph Smith, I seek to interpret the world, for I believe that this time has been given to us to acquire knowledge and skills that will arise with us in the resurrection (D&C 130:18). I am Mormon because I want to be sincere with my true self, and as long as I live I will serve, teach and learn from the people I meet.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the Presidency of the Young Men of my Ward. Therefore, this year I will lock my college to serve a Full Time Mission in the place where the Lord prepared for me. I have a dream of becoming an educator and helping youth to use all the rational potential to make the world a better and more dignified place to live and I believe that because I know my Savior lives.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Leonardo Severo
I know that all of us at some point in our lives try to get some answers about the purpose of being alive and mainly, why should we go through this challenge that we call life? There are many sources where we can get answers to our questions, but we know that human knowledge is limited and we may take centuries to get a clear answer in which to solve our doubts. By reading the sacred Scriptures and obtaining a testimony of the Book of Mormon, our vision is guaranteed to be illuminated by the voice of Divine Spirit. For me, this is not just about believing or not, it is about trying to get old knowledge that has been handed down from generation to generation through the revelations, insights and inspirations of those who in the past sought the same answers We are looking for today... If we devote ourselves to reading and examining those sources, we will realize that many have tried and even come close to understanding the real meaning of this life, but only the Scriptures can tell us what we should do to LIVE wisely, which in the end my brothers and sisters, We discover to be more valuable than just the meaning.
