Hi I'm Leland Rex Young

I'm a farm boy from Southeast Idaho. Working in the potato industry for 40 years. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to hunt, fish and especially camp and boat with my family. I am the father of two sons, two daughters and the grandfather of 19 grandchildren. I grew up in southeast Idaho where I work for the state for 40 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age of 8. My parents were members of the church but less active, so I was taught the gospel by my leaders and peers. I attended 4 years of seminary and graduated from the program. As I attend my meetings and other activities my testimony grew of the restored gospel. I know that our Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother love us and want us to return to live with them. Our Heavenly Father loved us so much he sent his Only Begotten Son, our Elder Brother and Savior, Jesus Christ to atone for our mistakes. He not only died and was resurrected, he bled from every pore for our mistakes. It is through his atoning sacrifice that we have the opportunity to return to live with our Heavenly Parents. The gospel message is simple, if we obey our Heavenly Fathers commandments and do our very best the Savior will make up the difference and we can return and live with them.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in leading 4 youth pioneer reenactments. I have been involved in scouting in my youth and as a leader. I have served as a cook at the local girls camp serving meals to over 300 girls and their leaders for 15 years. I have been honored to conduct numerous funeral services and the occasional wedding as I served in the office of Bishop.
